With a free account you can use website Standard and Express checkout. If you upgrade to Premium then you can use: PayPal Pro (version 1 and 2) and the ex-Verisign gateway, Payflow Pro or Payflow Links.
You need to define the currency in the cart setup on the "Language, Country and Currency" setup page. Choose your currency from the drop down list.
Using their standard method of integration the cart simply saves the order and then directs the customer to the Paypal website to pay for the entire cart contents. The customer may abandon the transaction when they get to Paypal, the order remains listed in Admin regardless of the outcome.
Check the IPN checkbox on the Paypal setup page. eCheck payments may take several days to clear at PayPal, the cart will only send an email when they do if the order is still in Admin.
The cart has many features and unfortuantely not all them can be replicated at PayPal. In practice it means that you will have to refer to the cart for all the details about an order.
PayPal let people choose whether they want their phone number to be passed back to a merchant. A simple fix is to ask for it using an "Additional customer data" field in the cart setup.
Check you have granted API Access to the cart in your Profile at PayPal.
