As an alternative to using the secure server to collect credit card details, you can use a third party payment processor. We currently have integrations for the services listed in the table below. There is also a system for manually configuring a link to a gateway that includes hosted secure pages as part of their service; we call it the the custom gateway method.
Not all the features of the cart work with all third party payment processors. Some do not post back what happens when the customer's card is authorized and so the cart doesn't know if there really is a sale. We are talking about all the functionality you would normally associate with a Thank you page: mTracker, remote calls, emails notifications and the download system.
* PayPal You must setup the IPN script or enable auto-return at PayPal.
** Custom gateways: In order to get any of these features to work you have to configure the return script correctly. With many gateways that isn't possible because they don't offer the facility.
Most payment gateways offer a mechanism for connecting to secure pages hosted by them using hidden form fields. To integrate these services you can use the Custom Gateway option. You should read the documentation to satisfy yourself that it will work for you.
There is also a wizard for quickly setting up a number of more common services using the Custom Gateway option:
- Beanstream
- TransAction Central
- Mirapay
- Netbanx
- PSI Gate
- eProcessingNetwork
- Paysystems
- MerchantPartners
- SecureHosting
